Where can I find amateur acting auditions in Los Angeles, CA? You look up auditions in LA and all you see are places that want you to think you're a professional actor. I'm not. There have to be amateur productions around here. |
there are a couple acting trade magazines you can get anywhere around Hollywood called VARIETY
and HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. open calls for community theater and student and ind, films are
listed in them. any open calls in LA will be listed in them. USC does a lot of student films. |

Does anybody know any people that I can call on the phone for teenage amateur acting auditions for me to act? PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO SEARCH IT!!!
I did that.
My mother told me to not sign up for any acting auditions SITES because she wants me to find a way to contact them and give her their telephone number so she can talk to them for me.
Anybody know? |
"Teenage amateur acting auditions" are pretty much going to be local. Your school, community theatre, and perhaps the youth theatre programs at universities, if you have one near you.
So you see, there is no way we can tell you who to call. |
What is good way to prepare for a perfumerie audition? I just found out the play for my school and i really want to get in to it. what is a good way to prepare for an audition for Perfumerie for an amateur |
Learn the script before you audition, so that when you audition you have a better idea of what you need to do.
All the best :) |

I need a really good Character song for my musical theater audition! Can anyone help? I am auditioning for a lead role (hopefully) in an amateur musical theater production. They have said that along with a ballad I need a good character song. I am hoping to avoid the cliche songs and do something that will stand out! If you have any ideas I would really appreciate it! Either Soprano or Metzo! |
I Can Cook, Too from On the Town for mezzo soprano...use 1st verse and chorus for your edit..stop at the interlude..
A Little Brains, A Little Talent from Damn Yankees...use last few pages for your edit...
The Song That Goes Like This from Spamalot for soprano...even though this is a duet, it makes a nice soprano selection for an audition..it's very comedic...
Hope one of these help... |
Can you please give me some tips for getting through an audition? I would like to have a good part in the local amateur dramatics panto - but I feel that, despite previous reasonable auditions, I am being overlooked - it is very cliquey and the same people tend to get picked year in year out. I think that maybe my weight is putting people off - I'm a couple of stone over. Any ideas for wowing the producer!! |
I agree with 'actormyk' .....be magnanimous, rise above all the competitors & the cliques. Let your personnality be as big as you are & be both proud & bold, without being arrogant in any way. Just try to pretend your in your bathroom (my favourite place when I was young for the accoustics) and sing & dance your heart out as though no-one else is there!
It's not the size of your waist they'll be looking at, they'll be too busy being 'wowed' by your warm giant personnality & love of the theatrics & life. Let your talent flow, your eyes sparkle, your mouth wide & your face full of expression & warmth. Let all your passion flow, then with the little energy you have left, calmly move towards them & thank them for allowing you to have SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Kind Regards, Good Luck & my best Angels go with You! |
Know any amateur theatre companies in Raleigh, NC? I'm looking to audition. Google's not helpful on this, so if you know of any amateur theatre companies around Raleigh, NC, that'd be great. |
All I did was search for Raleigh Theatre and several came up, I'm not sure what key words you used:
www.raleighlittletheatre.org/
www.raleigh-nc.org/portal/server.…
www.realtheatre.org/
www.theatreinthepark.com/
www.burningcoal.org/
www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org/
www.ctcharlotte.org/
www.triadstage.org/index.php
I'm sure there are more that are fairly local to you, but you may be better off looking in your local paper in the arts section. See what shows are playing and check out websites for the theatres they are playing at.
good luck,

What is meant by a recall audition? I went to an audition for an amateur version of fame the musical and got called back for a recall audition. Does this mean I have definitely got a part and they are just looking more closely at who to cast for the main roles etc or could I still be turned down?? |
| A recall audition is like a Callback, they are bringing back the best few people for each role to so they can see them one more time and make a better choice, they can still turn anyone down untill they sign you, or tell you the part is yours if it is unpaid, but you still do have a chance, anyone who did not get a callback audition has almost no chance. |
